President Chávez launched Monday Villanueva Mission –honoring architect Carlos Raul Villanueva- during his radio program ¡Aló, Presidente! (Hello President) No 276 held in Filas de Mariches, Miranda state.

The Head of State pointed out that US $ 698,551.669 million were invested in this new mission aimed at improving the urbanism aspect of Caracas. This city will be the pioneer, but these plans will be spread over the whole country.

The main goal of Villanueva Mission is to boost the progresses of Habitat Mission.

Villanueva Mission includes a set of urban plans which are already being implemented in Caracas (first phase) in order to change the aspect of popular sectors and improve its quality of life.

Chávez has presented some projects that show the size of this new mission intended to overcome previous plans such as habitat-vivienda (housing habitat).

The Bolivarian leader referred to the housing buildings they are working on in Filas de Mariches which guarantees that people can live in decent houses and in real socialist cities.

From here on, the sectors composed by houses in precarious conditions will be replaced by decent apartments and this process will be implemented in other sectors of the country.
