Jinjiluyu and Longhu parks

Rem Sapozhnikov / April 2014
JinJiLuYu (晋冀鲁豫烈士陵园 - Jìn jì lǔ yù lièshì língyuán) – is not quite a park. It is a cemetery of revolutionary heroes.

On this Memorial Cemetery were buried many revolutionaries and liberators,
who died in the JinJiLuYu Border Region during the Sino-Japanese War. The Border Region included the provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan and was formed on July 7, 1941, in the fourth anniversary of the incident at the Lugouqiao Bridge in Beijing, which became a formal reason for the Japanese to start a war aimed at China capture.

Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and other prominent figures came here to pay the tribute to the memory of the heroically fallen comrades.
The Memorial Cemetery was constructed from March 1946 till October 1950.

The park's name translates as Lake of the Dragon (龙湖公园 - Lónghú gōngyuán).
Park is wonderfully illuminated from all sides.
Above the lake flows the music, the rhythm of which leads the performance in lighting over the park.
