The railway station in Pingyao is the most common and in no way is styled for Chinese antique.

Soon in Pingyao another station will appear, but only for high-speed trains. It is, according to the satellite map, located to the south-west of the city, somewhere in 5-6 km. I wonder why it was built there if the new railway line passes very close to the southern suburbs of Pingyao. Maybe, this way, they want to support bus and taxi drivers?

Why is this room at the station? Why the sign is in English only?

Please, don't cross the white line (请勿越白线 - Qǐng wù yuè bái xiàn).
