Fenghuang (凤凰 - Fènghuáng), Hunan Province
I learned about the ancient town of Fenghuang, even before the first trip to China in 2008. To my regret, that town did not fit into any of my possible routes. And then I decided that I would definitely go there during my next trip to China.Fenghuang in the photographs looked like a semi-fantastic Chinese city from the distant past. It was hard to believe that you can just decide and easily go there.
Once in the city, I immediately noticed that, comparing with the 4-year-old photographs, tourist development along the river Tuojiang (沱江 - tuójiāng) continued a long way to the west.
